SNS College of Technology and the SNS College of Engineering were set up by the SNS Charitable Trust due to the increase in demand of engineering seats in Coimbatore. SNS College of Technology is one among 7 autonomous institutions in Coimbatore and has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. SNS College of Technology and the SNS College of Engineering share a twin campus which is built on 23 acres of land.
The 500 faculty members at the two engineering institutions possess rich experience in teaching. Despite possessing a lot of experience, the faculty members continue learning and also receive training from various industry experts. While 42 faculty members have received their Ph.Ds, more than 110 faculty members are currently pursuing their Ph.Ds. The faculty members who are dedicated to doing research have received about Rs. 50 lakh of research grants. The unique aspect of the faculty members at SNS College of Technology and College of Engineering is that they have produced more than 20 Ph.Ds with their guidance.
Newly joined faculty members who are hired have to undergo a weekly training process. They are trained on how to approach the subject, how to handle the students, how to get hold of a student’s interest and how to convert the interests into subject based learning. They also focus on outcome-based education. The institute ensures students do projects and mini projects and also provide the necessary help required to take part in the contests held around the city, state and country.
Faculty members also encourage students to take part in classroom discussions by utilizing a more interactive based teaching methodology. SNS is blessed with wonderful teaching minds. The faculty are engaged with constant changes and improvement year after year to meet the demanding innovative younger student minds. So, adoption of anything for the benefit of students is no new for SNS Team. Covid-19 brought tremendous technological upliftment in the minds of the teaching fraternity.
SNS College of Technology and SNS College of Engineering focus on fitting students to corporate seamlessly. The Institution have in house training cell in order to train young graduates. The trainers are being trained by a chief trainer from Infosys. This programme is mainly carried over in order to bridge the gap between the Institution and the Industry. An Industry Institute Partnership Cell has been started by the institute in order to increase the quality of engineers graduating from the institute and cover the gap between the institutions and industries. The industry experts also guide the students through the implant training and guide them with their projects and many students get placed in the same companies.
